Baby turtle entering ocean in Georgia

See Turtles at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center

The Georgia Sea Turtle Center is open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offers an assortment of fun exhibits and interactive experiences. If your child acts if they can touch a baby sea turtle, the answer is yes! If they are wondering if they can go on a walk and see some nests, the answer is also yes!

This is the quintessential sea turtle experience and one of the finest on the east coast. With virtual and guided tours, science Saturdays, and evening walks, you have plenty of ways to interact with these treasured creatures.

Get a taste of the center with the Terrapin Tracker on the official website. There are 13 terrapins rescued and in rehab now and nearly 200 eggs currently incubating!

Summer Waves Waterpark in Jeykll Island

Splash Around at the Summer Waves Waterpark

Visiting Summer Waves Waterpark is one of the defining Jekyll Island family activities. Few families (if any) make it to and back from Jekyll Island without a stop here.

This huge waterpark feature rides big and small, from the fun and family-oriented Frantic Atlantic Wave pool to the brand new Shark Tooth Cove kids play area. It is designed to offer a 360-degree panoramic view for watchful parents.

One of our favorite rides is Pirate’s Passage. It is a deep tube plunge from the height of a five-story tower. Kids will have a blast soaring down the tunnel and flying out the other end!

All ages can have a wonderful time frolicking at the park. Parents, both excited for the fast-paced action or ready to just relax (or try), can find something to do. There are upbeat slides and calming tube trips down the lazy river.

Admission is around $19 per person. It is open daily from 10 a.m. (11 a.m. Sunday) to 6 p.m.
